Want to sit in James Franco’s lap?

We’re not sure he’ll let you do that (not after that slip-up with the 17-year-old) but he has donned a Santa suit in anticipation of his appearance at The Strand next Monday, December 8. “I’ll sign for ALL comers!” he promises on Facebook.

In Franco’s seventh bookHollywood Dreaming (more of a picture book than a novel), he blends narrative, artwork and poetry to tell the story of a young actor making his way through Tinseltown (so, basically himself).

Back in May, when J-Franks signed copies of Palo Alto at the Union Square Barnes & Noble, fans started lining up at 5 a.m. for a 10:45 a.m. signing, so Franco-philes will want to get to this one early: the line will form at 4:30 p.m. in front of The Strand, with the signing happening from 6:30 to 8:30pm. You’ll have to buy a copy of the book from the store in order to get it signed. And sorry, no photos — this ain’t Russell Brand.

If you manage to get in, you may want to wear a flak jacket. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is reportedly so miffed about The Interview — in which Franco and Seth Rogen play journalists recruited by the CIA to kill him off — that he plans to take “merciless counter-measures”, according to a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry.
